Synopsis: The film Catherine II, The Fall of the Great tells about the last years of Empress Catherine the Great’s life.
In 1796 it was the 34th year of Catherine ruling Russia. Anticipating her imminent death, she realizes that a serious problem is about to happen. Her son Paul, who is to inherit the throne, does not love either Russia or his mother, considering her to be guilty of the death of his father and after ascending the throne he intends to destroy everything she has created.
Ekaterina Alekseevna will have to make a difficult decision about the succession to the throne – to declare her beloved grandson Alexander Pavlovich as the heir and thereby destroy Paul’s life or to admit the pernicious rule of the son.

Director's Statement

A person is arranged in such a way that nothing is impossible for him if something has lit a flame in his soul.
No one believed that I could make a movie at the age of 13 and with a budget of $13,000. But I have done it.

Director's Bio

This is my directorial debut. I am 15 years old, I am a dubbing actor (on the June 17th, the high-profile premiere of Luka from Disney and Pixar with my participation was released in the cinema). I have long dreamed of making a film about the last months of Catherine the Great’s life, her death, and significant events during this period. No one had filmed anything about this stage of her life before. I am sure that it would be interesting to the audience. I have believed in my dream and managed to create an opportunity for myself to make it come true. At the age of 13, when I became a participant in the program A Million for a Dream on Russian TV, I found a sponsor for my film. Jury member Andrey Trubnikov (Natura Siberica company) have decided to sponsor my project in the amount of 1 million rubles ($13,000). With this money, I have rented the museum Kuskovo Memorial Estate for filming, recruited a team of 32 people, and made this film.
