Tribute to Barry LeBeau
Synopsis: A Tribute to Barry LeBeau
Black Hills Film Festival Board Member and friend, Barry LeBeau, passed away unexpectedly at his Pierre, SD residence in late March of 2020. Barry was a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux tribe, a South Dakota actor, voice talent, narrator/announcer for the South Dakota Symphony’s Lakota Music Project, a tribal relations consultant as well as an Indian affairs and arts lobbyist. Barry was the first member of the BHFF board of directors after the Festival’s creation by its three founders in 2009. He served several terms as President and Secretary and 11 years as a Master of Ceremonies for the Festival. Barry, we will miss your dedication, sense of humor, big voice and hearty laugh.
The song “Between Earth and Sky” used by permission from Darren Thompson from his CD of the same name. It is an original composition played on an 800 year old Pueblo flute made of western cedar.
