Synopsis: Prime of Your Life is the story of Samantha, who spends her days grinding in pursuit of the dream of
becoming a ‘working actor.’ Most days are spent in her car traversing Los Angeles County from one
audition, side gig, acting class, improv team practice, self-funded indie project, and Bumble date to another.
When emerging director Mitchell invites her over to talk about a role in his upcoming film, she makes a
rookie mistake… to hope.

Director's Statement
PRIME OF YOUR LIFE is a dark, comedic, and ACCURATE look into the life of one actor, but it represents
so many thousands that pin their hopes on a career in Hollywood. It’s expensive, time-consuming, and filled with rejection… and that’s just TRYING to get an audition. The life of an L.A. actor is life in a car, shuttling yourself from one “opportunity” to the next on your own dime. Very few book, but so many come close.
My dear friend and long-time collaborator Tara Erickson is one such person. Over the years, I have helped
her with hundreds of self-taped auditions and headshot shoots, talked with her endlessly about improv
classes, and gone to her sketch shows. She has come close to breaking through so many times. After a
recent rejection where they said she needed more drama on her reel, I responded by saying, “Well, let’s give it to them!” …andPrime of Your Life was born.
In Tara’s own words, here’s what this film is about:
“You’re the one who chooses to accept all the rejection. You focus on the hard work. You choose to have less time for those around you. You’re fully committed to the sacrifice you knew you’d have to make. You choose your dream because if you didn’t, it would break you.”
This film is a mixture of comedy and tragedy that our lives encompass. We hope you find yourself full of emotion; laughter, confusion, sadness. And the will to keep going with your dream no matter.
