Synopsis: A teenage boy trying to help his poverty-stricken family ends up in prison where he forms an unlikely bond with a reformed gangster. Based on a true story of family, faith and redemption of a troubled young man, Pong, from an impoverished family in Northern Thailand. It is the all-too-common story of a cycle of poverty and addiction that is passed down from father to son. We follow the journey of Pong who, through the compassion of a former addict and gangster, Pat, and the introduction to a power beyond himself, breaks the cycle and embarks on a life of freedom. Filmed entirely on location in Northern Thailand.

Director's Statement
Not all prisons have walls. Sometimes we are imprisoned by the choices we make. This is an important story with a universal message that needs to be shared to a wide audience. People in the remote villages of South East Asia suffer many hardships and often turn to various addictions to escape. Our film is about a young man from such a background who overcame his addictions to attain a life worth living. It is based on a true story and provides hope for others facing similar challenges that there is an attainable future where they can find peace, happiness and be free.
Director's Bio
Nipan Chawcharernpon is an emerging Thai film director, VFX artist, teacher, and founder of Nipan Studios in Chiang Mai Thailand. Nipan created the first science fiction short film produced in Thailand, The Deepest, which was seen at the Cannes Film Festival. The excellence and creative energy of his work has gained international attention and attracted more than 50,000 YouTube followers and more than one million views of his YouTube channel. He believes that there is nothing to limit human potential and he wants to contribute to society by pushing forward people’s inspirations to create great works.
