Written and executed in a haze of energy drinks and 2 hours of sleep, Target’d was originally created and released for the Los Angeles 48 hour film project in 2017. The runtime limit of the festival meant the original film’s pacing suffered along with sections of scenes that had to be left out completely. Upscaled resolution, extended scenes, newly colored, refined sound mix, and updated visual effects means this Director’s Cut is the definitive release of the film in it’s entirety as it was meant to be seen. It only took 48 hours to make… and four years to finally finish.
Admittedly, I was the shy fat kid growing up, but in my heart I always wanted to put on a show. I was beyond obsessed with movies and drawing. With the encouragement of my parents, I began making stop-motion films when I was four years old. Until I was about ten, we lived on a ranch in Ventura County, CA where I loved exploring the orchards and making up stories and adventures with my brother and cousins. After we moved, I started playing football and that’s where the leadership bug took root.
Being a part of a team and trusting people to do their job while you did yours was everything to me then, and still is to this day. In some way, I’ll always be that little chubby kid making up stories and trying to put on a show. Or at the very least I’ll always try to hold on to that.
