Synopsis: Created with oil painting frame by frame, The Winter depicts a story between a peasant and a mysterious deer in a snowy forest. After searching and chasing this beautiful deer, the peasant eventually remains peaceful when he saw the mountain.

This is one of four short films in a series called ‘The Seasons’. Each short film represents a feeling related to a season of the year. ‘The Winter’ applied traditional paint on glass animation depicting a story between a peasant and a mysterious deer in a snowy forest.

Director's Bio

Xin is a Chinese born animator and filmmaker based in Shanghai. He specializes in the traditional method of paint-on-glass stop-motion animation. Through this technique he explores tranquil and often intimate moments of life through abstract narratives.
