Synopsis: About The Breed:
The Moriesian is combination of Morgan and Friesian bloodlines. Bringing two beautiful and well loved breeds together to create an elegant and versatile sport horse. The Moriesian Horse Registry was started in 1996 and there are now several breeders around the US.
Height range is generally between 15.1 and 16.1hh. Black is the most common color, but any color is accepted in the registry.
From classical dressage to combined driving to mountain trail rides and parades, these magnificent horses are making quite the name for themselves.
There are three main divisions:
The First Generation Moriesian, is the result of a cross from a purebred Friesian and and a purebred Morgan.
The Second Generation, is the result of a cross from a Moriesian to a Moriesian.
Three Quarter Moriesian, where the foal can be up to 75% Friesian or Morgan depending on the cross.
