Discover The Horse – Pintabian Breed
Synopsis: The Pintabian horse has been around for decades, but what exactly is a Pintabian? They have over 99% Arabian bloodlines with tobiano markings. Tobiano refers to a specific type of white spotting pattern.
Although close to purebred they are still less than 100% Arabian as there are no purebreds with these markings.
The Pintabian Horse Registry was formed in 1992. Arabian horses were crossed to horses with the tobiano color pattern for a minimum of seven generations. Resulting in a spotted horse of pleasure type.
Pintabian horses originated after continually backcrossing Arabian horses to tobiano horses for a minimum of seven generations. It was at this point that a relatively pure strain of foundation pleasure type tobiano horses had been produced. The intent was to produce a flashy tobiano pleasure horse that was separate and distinct from any other.
