CENTAUR HORSES
The history of the Centaur Theater could be written by aggregating each of the stories that unite Camille and Manolo and their “animal halves”.
Director's Bio
“When you want to be a baker or a firefighter,” Manolo said he wanted to live in a castle with artists and horses. “Very small already”, he took lessons in theater, dance, mime, and so on.
At 15, following a classic training, he made “seed of champion” in equestrian competitions.
At 17, he was learning all over the place, aerobatics, high school dressage, bullfighting riding, Hungarian post and other Cossack rides … “Reasoned instinctive riding”, he says as if it went without saying.
At the age of 19 (1989), he left – “summer job” – to accompany kids for one-week hikes in Burgundy. There, his mania for storytelling helping, each teen-pony couple became a character, the slightest backhoe turned into a dragon, and an entire night could be spent “attacking” a nearby castle, the guardian of the ramparts behind. The following year, the fantastic epic was transformed into a traveling spectacle. Thus was born the concept of “self and its animal part with which we will live in autarky 24 hours a day”.
At the same time, He quenched his thirst for learning by means of endless readings and various studies, yoga lessons, license of philosophy, IUT sociocultural, then master and DEA of research on what he would soon call the “Actor-centaur”, creature of his invention born from the fusion between an equine and a human.
Manolo was 23 years old and the desire to mount a duet with a dancer, when an organizer of equestrian events introduced his cousin, Camille.
