Heather was born and raised in San Antonio Texas and has been working in independent film since 2009, primarily in the camera department, once photography proved to be too lonely for someone so comically extroverted.
A fan of exploring drama within genre filmmaking, her focus is on creating interesting stories with compelling characters, regardless of the trappings of the film genre surrounding them. She strives to give life and voice to characters that feel like real people and embody those who have traditionally gone unheard and unnoticed in movies and television.
She graduated with a Master of Fine Arts in Film Production from the University of Texas at Austin in August of 2020.
She wrote, produced, directed and starred in her first short film “Recompense”, which premiered at the 2014 San Antonio Film Festival. Some of her other credits include “A Perfect Cocktail” ﴾gaffer﴿, which premiered at Cannes in 2013, and “Pop Lock & Drop It” ﴾writer, director of photography), which won the Audience Choice Award at the 2015 48 Hour Film Project. Her award winning horror short, BLUR has screen at festivals internationally, including venues in Austin, Los Angeles, Mexico, Little Rock, and Atlanta. She recently completed a short science fiction film “FTY: Failure to Yield” which premiered at the Colorado International Science Fiction and Fantasy Film Festival and won several awards, included Best Actress.
