The Fix
Synopsis: To say Girl is down on her luck is an understatement. She struggles with debt, health, career, her landlord, and hasn’t had a hot shower in two months. She cannot catch a break… until she does. And what she does with it is a sad and relevant commentary on how women see themselves.

Director's Statement
As a first time film director, I was lucky to have had an opportunity to grapple with the complex and important relationship between physical beauty and women’s self-worth. Our culture is ripe with products, pills and procedures claiming to make you thinner, prettier, and younger. But while there is an abundance of societal factors contributing to our endless quest for beauty “perfection,” I found myself constantly considering the psychological and emotional complexities of dysmorphia and perceived self-image. Within a value system where women are defined first and foremost by their appearance, it’s no wonder that the desire for personal change is met with so many solutions of outward “fixes.” I hope for this film to be a tiny part of a shift in that value system, and that our message of a deeper self-worth and natural beauty be recognized and celebrated.
Also, please note that this production had a crew of all female production heads. #girlpower
