Director's Statement
I developed this film with Freya and Bethany during lockdown, based on Freya’s own experience as a new mother during that time. We crafted a new way of filming, with Bethany and I shooting and editing a ‘test film’ which Freya then used as a basis to film herself, in another country. Aiming to shoot a cinematic lockdown film, I was so pleased with how the film came out. Thank you for taking the time to watch it – I hope you enjoy it too.
Director's Bio
Patrick has been addicted to films for as long as he can remember; from film school in school holidays and shooting sketches with friends, to studying Film and Television Production at University of York. After graduating, he set up Dark Avenue Film with partner Bethany White in his native Isle of Man, striving to tell stories that excite him and experiment with narrative and filming techniques. He won Distinguished Director at York’s HARPE Awards 2018 for directing Road To The Top, part of the Untold Stories monologues which he later filmed (www.darkavenuefilm.com/portfolio).
