Synopsis: Ey is a lonely, introverted farmer who’s best friend is her avoidant cat. She works hard but is too shy to go up to her colleagues. After a particularly lonely day, she sees an infomercial selling bolt cutters that promises to make her friends. After an elaborate setup to save the day, Ey finds herself on the precipice of everything she wanted. But will this potential new friendship flourish or blow up in her face?

Ariel Iman Rose is an emerging filmmaker who focuses on telling stories around the female and biracial experience. She’s gifted at creating empathy and humanity around strong characters. She is also very excited to share her debut short film, Bolt Cutters Make Great Friends, with the world.
