Director's Bio

Alfonso Loya is an award winning filmmaker and a multi-instrumentalist musician born and raised in Cd. Juarez. At the age of 12 he moved to New Mexico where he was introduced to his first musical instrument and later became a singer/songwriter. With a background in mariachi music he plays guitar, piano, violin, harmonica, bass, drums and ukulele.
He graduated from New Mexico State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Filmmaking. In 2017 he started this production company ICF along with fellow filmmaker Tony Marquez whom he met during his time in NMSU. Alfonso has a passion for storytelling in general and has worked in many productions in various positions including, producer, editor and director.
Alfonso has directed short films, commercials, music videos, including the music video “Pintate A Volar” which took home the Best Music Video Of The Year award at the Las Cruces International Film Festival 2020. He has edited a few trailers for feature films including the 2020 George Lopez and Edward James Olmos comedy/drama “Walking With Herb”.
