Synopsis: Hip hop Producer LateNightLoki finds himself transported into an alternative reality when reviewing his song “Forest Spirit” on vinyl. With no clear way out, Loki fully embraces the experience as he is guided on a surreal trip through a landscape of his own creation. While breaking bread with sheep and drumming on his handy MPC Live, Loki begins to recognize the power of music and intention. Only then does he understand how to make his way back home.

Director's Statement

The visuals for forest spirit are an exploration of the power and energy that’s manifested through the creation and consumption of music. Music Is one of the most influential forms of media today and plays a pivotal role in how culture is shaped, defined, and informed. Few forms of information distribution garner as much influence as music, with one being religion, which again is often infused and reiterated through music. Drawing from my own experiences and others alike, many of my transcendental experiences have come through listening to music, sometimes combined with psychedelics.

Throughout the video, there are subtle references to well-known scenes and metaphors depicted in the bible. The most notable being the iconography of the sheep and their Shepard, which in my opinion, has a similar but subtitle relationship dynamic to music artist and their fans.
Each scene of the music video was created to evoke feelings of euphoria and surrealism within the viewer while also drawing upon the visual distortions that are experienced while using psychedelics.
