Synopsis: The City of Zagreb in a world with no water, the few surviving citizens are hiding in their apartments – if the thirst hasn’t kill them, their neighbor might. One day, a white cat appears in a building, leaving behind wet paw prints. The tenants decide to follow the cat to the water source. But first they have to conquer their fear and unite.

This film tackles a fear of other, life in the isolation and a need to unite and learn to work together to save the world, sound familiar? Well, it wasn’t intended to have such a similarity, as it was filmed in 2018, and it was supposed to be a fantasy film.
Karla Lulic is a Croatian screenwriter, director and producer, with a MA degree in Cinema and TV production at the Sorbonne University in Paris. She is a founder of Dobar Film (i.e. a good film), a Croatian production house dedicated to make good films slightly flirting with genres.
Her debut short film, an independent Croatian comedy in co-production with France, titled IN THE NAME OF THE STRAWBERRY, THE CHOCOLATE AND THE HOLY SPIRIT, was awarded in Rome and New York, screened 2 times in Los Angeles, as a world premiere at SEEfest LA and in a full Aero theatre (American Cinematheque) as a Croatian representative of best films coming from Europe at Starring Europe film festival. It screened on 20+ festivals worldwide and had a national premiere as the first short film in long history of Pula film festival screened at the opening ceremony in famous Roman Arena with more than 5000 spectators. It was selected for a cinema distribution at Europanorama program 2020 and “A short instead of a commercial” national independent cinemas initiative to screen best short films in theatres.
Her second short film FOLLOWING…, a comedy with post-apocalyptic elements just launched with a successful national premiere at Roman Arena as part of the selection of Pula film festival 2020. The sales representative is Mailuki films from Spain. A 3rd short film «Split Ends» is in preparation for shooting, supported by the Croatian audiovisual centre and presented at IN THE PALACE international short film festival in Bulgaria, as part of the Filmer Forge program.
She develops her first feature film, a black comedy MIRROR OF NIGHTINGALES, selected and developed by Mediterranean Film Institute in Greece 2020. The project is presented at European Genre Forum at Tallinn Black Nights FF 2019, and it is backed by script development funds of Croatian audiovisual center HAVC.
