Director's Bio

Antonio De La Cruz grew up in New York City. He came from the Dominican Republic when he was four years old. He majored in Communications (Filmmaking) and Theater arts at the City College of New York. “107 Street,” his 1st feature film, premiered at the HBO New York International Latino Film Festival. “Salsa Lessons,” his 2nd feature, won several awards at the Park City Film Music Festival. His 3rd feature, “The Children of Hip Hop,” won a special award at the Queens World Film Festival and Best USA Feature at the Latino Market Film Festival. He recently finished his 4th feature called “Three from the Block.” He completed his 5th feature film, “MatarĂ©,” composed of three interconnected vignettes or stories. He just finished editing his 6th feature called “Urban.”
