Synopsis: Soul Sanctuary is the impossible story of how people find meaning and purpose after a life of addiction. For those that crash upon the shoals of Beit T’Shuvah they are in for a life changing experience that includes communal living, daily Torah study, a spiritual advisors, good meals, and connection to community. The choir and the music experience is transformational. This is a reminder of how soulfulness is really one’s most important possession.
I loved the time I spent making this film at Beit T’Shuvah. They made me feel warm and welcome. This place is part kibbutz as it is an in patient treatment center, part rehab, and part synagogue. I loved the music and the people who recovered their passion for life! The music program alone is an amazing example of what joy sounds like.
