Synopsis: Line in the Street is a film about gerrymander reform, and a singular victory over the this oldest and most fundamental form of vote suppression. The story follows a successful legal battle in Pennsylvania to overturn 18 rigged congressional voting districts in Pennsylvania in 2018.
Line in the Street tell the story of citizen activists, civil disobedience, legislative dishonesty, and ultimately a win for voting rights, and gerrymander reform.
Recorded in Pennsylvania in 2017, 2018, the film uses live and archival material to tell a unique story about gerrymander reform and state constitutional voting rights

The right to vote, and to equal treatment of the vote is foundational to the “rule of law”
Director's Bio
Robert Millman is an accomplished activist documentary filmmaker based is Glenville, NY. His film “Bought and Sold” was instrumental in the fight for paper ballots in New York State. As part of Citizens Advocating Responsible Development (CARD), his efforts defeated the citing of a 500 MW power plant on an endangered aquifer adjacent to the elementary, middle and high school system of Scotia/Glenville in upstate New York. The work by Robert Millman and CARD is the only case in New York State history where a power plant siting was defeated “for cause” in New York state courts. Other noteworthy projects were forcing conservative Clear Channel radio stations in upstate NY to play progressive radio spots, and doing the groundwork for funding and building public support for a municipal water system in the Town of Cairo, NY. His film credits include Best Documentary at the Focus 78 Film Festival held at Paramount Studios, Los Angeles, CA. He was the Unit Manager on “He Knows You’re Alone,” Tom Hanks’s first film. Millman’s documentary film about skid-row residents of New York’s Bowery “Many Rivers to Cross” has been screened at the Museum of Modern Art, NYC.
