Synopsis: Ana is in her mid-twenties and lives a satisfactory routine life. She’s independent and can take care of herself but she has no one and no one sees her. She lives a very routine life; wakes up, drinks tea, goes to work, goes home, picks out her clothes for the next day, goes to sleep, and then wakes up and does it all over again.

After seeing on the news that a woman was murdered on her street around the same time that she got home the night before Ana becomes increasingly paranoid and haunted by the woman that was killed.

Director's Statement

In this collaboration with Camelia Dee and Bella Santos, I sought to blur the line between horror fantasy and reality. The nightmares which haunt the main character are all too real and disturbingly familiar for women around the world. Only through recognition of this perspective can we as a society make changes over time and perhaps one day a woman will be able to walk down a city street alone at night without feeling like she’s an unwitting character in a horror film.

Director's Bio

Jennifer Hook is a Cinematographer and Director based in Los Angeles specializing in handheld action/stunt sequences and adventure documentaries. In narrative storytelling her favorite projects are those which challenge her to adapt her personal shooting style to fit the theme of the story being told; therefore, her personal style is always evolving. Her favorite sets to work on are those which foster a sense of community among the crew and lead to friendships and working relationships lasting far beyond any one single project. Jennifer constantly strives to improve her work, always learning from her peers in the film industry.
Jennifer’s skills as a cinematographer and editor have allowed her to step more confidently into the role of director on several projects including the feature “Emerson Heights,” the web series “Roommates,” and numerous shorts. Her upcoming passion project is a feature about people whose lives and loved ones are affected by epilepsy.
