Director's Statement
This story is, in many ways, both broad and particular. The story, for me, has always been about loss & abandonment and what could happen when our walls of protection drop from around us. In many stories, especially ones where we spotlight those on the “margins of society”, the trend is to highlight their means and reduce the people to only a product of that. To wholly integrate people and their circumstances. My goal was to give you a human story within a circumstance, not about one.
