Synopsis: EVAN, a military veteran, meets with a therapist to undergo psychedelic therapy. During the session, Evan experiences an intense wartime flashback that unsettles him. The therapist attempts to get Evan to talk about it, but he’s reluctant and storms off.
The therapist later arrives at her home and unbeknownst to her, has been followed by Evan. He pulls out a gun and accuses the therapist of secretly investigating him for something he did back in the war. The therapist denies this and explains to Evan he’s having a paranoid episode caused by the psychedelic treatment. Evan’s flashbacks intensify, pulling him closer to the traumatic event he’s been unwilling to face until the moment reaches full catharsis and Evan is reborn.

This story is inspired by the renewed investigation of the use of psychedelic substances for the treatment of PTSD in the US military. It’s also inspired by my own experience using psychedelics as a therapeutic tool.
