Synopsis: Every year tens of thousands of wild and domestic horses are hauled across US Borders into Mexico and Canada and brutually slaughtered to satsify the demand for their meat. There is a new Bill in Congress that will protect wild and domestic horses in this country from slaughter titled “Save America’s Forgotten Equines (SAFE) Act of 2021, H.R. 3355.
Introduced by Representatives Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) and Vern Buchanan (R-Fla.), this bipartisan legislation will, “…prohibit the shipping, transporting, moving, delivering, receiving, possessing, purchasing, selling, or donation of horses and other equines to be slaughtered for human consumption, and for other purposes.”
Contact your representative and urge them to take a stand for the ‘forgotten equines” and co-sponsor the (SAFE) Act H.R. 3355.
