Synopsis: “Why Horses” is an introduction to the variety of options offered by the horse industry in Maryland, the video was funded by a grant from the Rural Maryland Council, with the Maryland Horse Foundation and the Maryland Horse Industry Board as Executive Producers.
Highlighting horses’ ability to feed our soul, and to strengthen our bodies through exercise and connection to nature, the script was written by consultant Alejandra Abella, who also serves as the host on the video and is Education Advisor to the MHIB. Other themes depicted in the video, on the positive effects of horses on human lives include companionship; empowerment; partnership; academics; responsibility; commitment; compassion; discipline; independence; teamwork; equality; character-building; and humility.
“Why Horses?” has been produced to serve as a free resource for any and all members of the horse industry, and includes information on the MHIB program of approved Horse Discovery Centers and its Horses for Courses Curriculum, another free resource.
