Ismet is a Turkish soldier, who was on duty at the border as a Commander of the Coast Guard and recently got retired. Now as a civilian, he struggles to communicate with his family and people surrounding him. His only son abandoned him and left to the U.S. And now his wife wants to join her son, too. After suddenly becoming neighbors with two Syrian refugees (Omar and Mariye) at his house near the Turkish-Greek border and the humane experience he has to live through, he now has to face his prejudices and his political view. Director's Bio
Mehmet Bahadir Er graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University’s Cinema-Television academy with a bachelor’s degree. There he learned from Berlin “Golden Bear” awarded director Metin Erksan about cinema theory, from Duygu Sagiroglu about script writing and from Memduh Ün about movie production. His movies received awards from Antalya the Golden Orange Festival, Adana The Golden Boll Festival, Ankara Film Festival, Ifsak, Istanbul Independent Movies Festival, International Bosphorus Film Festival and Sony Entertainment.. His films appeared ar international festivals. He co-directed his debut movie Kara Kopekler Havlarken (Black Dogs Barking – 2009) with Maryna Er Gorbach. They have co-directed movies ever since.
