Notes on Ice
Synopsis: Every year a group of eccentric musicians and ice carvers gather in the Norwegian mountains to create a truly unique event. All the instruments are created from wild ice, cut from frozen lakes. The stage and auditorium are sculpted from ice and snow. This is music that is truly created in the moment; a blend of sound and place, man and nature, which hangs briefly in the cold night air before melting away into the darkness…

Director's Bio
Mitch Turnbull (Producer/Director)
Mitch Turnbull is an award-winning factual TV Producer and Director with over 100 film credits on drama feature films and TV documentaries for broadcasters including CBS, PBS, BBC, Channel 4, NHK, National Geographic and the Discovery Channel. She currently splits her time between BBC Worldwide and her own company Bramble Media. A recent Bramble Media project was to make a film for the Duke of Cambridge.
Mark Whatmore (Producer/Director/Cameraman/Editor)
Mark Whatmore is a cameraman and filmmaker producing documentaries, dramas, media installations and corporate films for clients around the world. His work includes films for Al Jazeera, the BBC, Sky, Channel 4 and National Geographic, and institutions such as UNESCO, The World Bank and English Heritage.
Dave Thacker (Sound recordist)
Dave Thacker is a UK-based sound recordist working on documentaries and dramas in the UK and around the world.
