Synopsis: Oskar lives in the small arid town of Thereabouts where joy seemingly doesn’t exist. He and his grandfather are the town’s undertakers. Oskar does the embalming, makeup and even builds the coffins for their unfortunate clientele. When tragedy leaves Oskar on his own he embarks on a quest to find that elusive thing called happiness. Using a lifestyle magazine as his guide he fruitlessly stumbles through superficial attempts at happiness. His smile and emotions seemed doomed to fail until he gets a push from a funny little girl named Hope.

Director's Statement
I’ve always loved the simplistic life lessons of Aesop’s fables or Grimm fairy tales and how they weren’t afraid to be a bit dark or harsh in getting that message across. Kids know that death and pain exist in the world and their curiosity of it usually isn’t satisfied with most children’s cartoons. I created a series of stories that exist in a fantastical land that isn’t scared to get real and dark when the lesson needs it to be. In this film I wanted to show the classic moral, that it is better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all. That fearing loss prevents you from experiencing the joys and loves of life, and well, love truly is what life is all about.
Director's Bio
Kevin Molohan has always been a late bloomer. Maturity still hasn’t fully set in yet and he does everything possible to avoid it. He follows his curiosity and passions which sometimes leads to wandering about as he tries to track down those funny little sparks of creativity. There is no greater joy for him than capturing one of those ideas and bringing it to life.
