Synopsis: After moving with his family to the U.S. from Sri Lanka, Ranga lost his father to
an unexpected heart attack. Coping with the loss eventually led him to Montana,
where he was drawn to the magic of fly fishing and the solace of the river.
Through being in nature and meeting the challenges of his personal journey, he
learned the importance of mindfulness and living life with an open heart.

Director's Statement
As a visual storyteller, he primarily focuses on documentary filmmaking and photography as well as producing branded content. His ultimate goal is to bring the core of the story to the surface with subtle but powerful and creative techniques that encourage the audience to engage in the story. As an artist, he hopes to offer a deeper understanding of the human experience and create a more visceral connection between the audience and the wide-ranging subjects of his work.
Director's Bio
Tom works as a film producer, director, cinematographer and editor as well as a stills photographer. He is originally from the Great Plains, but has since planted his roots in the mountains of Montana. In the past he has worked seasonally as a backcountry instructor and river guide. In 2016, he graduated from the University of Montana with a BFA in Media Arts and Digital Video Production.
