Resemblance
Synopsis: Yea, yea, yea, I know it is a cliché, but kayaking really does take you to some of the most beautiful places you can imagine. Sometimes when I am on the river I wonder whether or not it is worth holding the camera to get the shot, instead of experiencing that exact moment and “soaking it all in.” I never knew that kayaking along with cinematography would be such fantastic tools and provide a new outlook and light on common themes through out mundane activities. Resemblance was shot with the purpose of showing the beauty of the simplicities in life and how these activities that seem so unique can blend and resemble each other. Between the beauty and tranquility of River Whyless’s lyrics in “Life Crisis” and the quote of the late great Henry David Thoreau, “Resemblance” unveils the purity and love found in the life of a student and whitewater traveler.

Director's Statement
Everyone has a passion that helps shape their story and my passion is whitewater. My life experiences, friends, and family have inspired me to create and have shaped this film. Whitewater has shaped my life and through this film I could only hope to portray these experiences in a way that makes you become apart of them and my story.
