Director's Statement
I was drawn to this story of a very young person trying to manage conflict and change, and finding a kind of awful solace in self harm, when her parents prove unsupportive. When making the film, we tried always to focus on Mandy’s resilience, as she fights the urge to turn her anger and confusion on herself.
