Synopsis: Kendra Johnson has a knack for defying the odds. When Kendra was born with an extremely severe physical disability, none of the doctors at the local hospital had any experience with arthrogryposis, so they immediately air-lifted her to another hospital. Couching the prognosis in the gentlest terms possible to Kendra’s parents, the doctors left no uncertainty that Kendra would not walk, that is if she survived. Worse yet, nobody seemed to know where to begin or how to even try to help Kendra gain the mobility she would need to live. Armed with an indomitable spirit, Kendra’s mom created her own plan to incorporate every innovative physical therapy she could find to make sure her daughter would have a fighting chance at an independent life. Settling was not an option. No one expected Kendra to achieve so much in so little time, nor did they think horses would play such a large role in it.
