Synopsis: What happens when adopted and foster children and rescued horses, cast off by their owners, meet? Might the life parallels between these youth and these horses help the other to claim their sense of belonging? How does this human-horse love relationship create ambassadors for a better world? Is it possible horses can help create a more loving generation of humans who care about taking responsibility for themselves, and each other? This beautiful new documentary explores the friendship between two beings so different and yet so alike. A friendship where both sides long to connect their heart-space.

Director's Statement
The major storyline is THE PARALLELS OF THE KIDS/YOUTH AND THE HORSES, AND HOW STRONG THEY ALL BECOME WHEN THEY CONNECT AND FEEL UNITED AS FRIENDS! They all have a traumatized past. They all deal with their situation differently. And they find healing in one another! The kids in the horses and the horses in the kids. The horses’ mission is to be heard by us humans. And the kids are listening. The horses taught them to talk, to find comfort in one another, to find trust. A safe space for all and in their own time. And very gifted Sara B. Willerson gives beautiful insights into what actually happens with the horses’ missions on the energetic level.
The Drama-Aspects, as well as the beautiful “bonding” (a word the kids insisted to have mentioned) this film will show with the rhythm, the pauses of loneliness, the feelings of abandonment, then the feelings of the search of oneself, the inner truth, the outer experience. And it all comes down to find, and stay true to, oneself. And we can do that (humans & horses) with the help of a good friend to make good choices.
Director's Bio
After her studies on alternative healing methods, Jolanda Ellenberger went back to writing, studying journalism and communications at the California State University in Sacramento, and screenwriting in Zurich, Switzerland. While going into directing films, Jolanda also took some acting classes. Jolanda’s debut short film, SEA LEVEL RISING, was filmed at a Native American sacred site in California. The short film introduced her public voice to what is continued in Jolanda’s environmental drama fantasy film, DISPLACEMENT, and upcoming environmental thriller, feature length screenplay DRIFTWOOD (in script development). Also in script development is Jolanda’s feature length horse thriller, INNER VOICES. And soon going into post-production is Jolanda’s feature length documentary film, THE FREEDOM OF THE HEART-A PART OF THE WHOLE STORY, a movie on non-violent ways to work with horses. Raising two young horses near her home in Switzerland, Jolanda created four live horse shows, from 2016 to 2017, to be near them for their education. Jolanda’s short documentary, THE FREEDOM OF THE HEART-THE FOAL STORY, celebrated its world premiere in Monte Carlo and thereafter, won many accolades throughout the USA and Europe. Her feature documentary, HIGH-SENSITIVE YOUTH IN THE HORSE-HEART-SPACE, will celebrate its world premier at the Napa Valley Film Festival/The WHINNIES, in November 2018.
