Director's Statement
I had to do something creative during Covid! I found two local dancers and choreographed a Spanish style dance for them to do to a pop song I love, something NOT Spanish at all. I love and was inspired by the dreamscape work of Spanish director Carlos Saura. Coincidently, my DP was mentored by Vittorio Storaro (Saura’s go to DP) and I enjoyed working with him very much. After editing the dance number, I decided to ditch the pop song and work with a local composer to create an original piece of music to highlight the dance narrative. I am very grateful to the locals who donated to my Go-Fund me to pay for the Color Grading part of the process.
I am grateful to have seen this play on the big screen where it it stands out most visually. My purpose in creating this was to find joy and create a space for those involved to co-create and play in the difficult time of Covid. I hope the spark of joy transmits.
