La Ruta Madre Expedition Race
Synopsis: The Ruta Madre Expedition Race is the only adventure race that exists in Mexico today and, without a doubt, the most challenging competition, taking its participants across 50, 100, or 200 km of dramatic landscapes of Cumbres de Monterrey National Park, home to an extremely diverse, amazing and demanding terrain. Those brave enough to participate have to rely on the strength of their legs to run and bike through endless kilometers of canyons and mountains, that of their arms to rappel and row through impressive bodies of water, but above all, that of their mind to keep moving forward even when everything else seems to be against them.

Director's Statement
In Monterrey, it is hard not to get inspired by the landscapes. Living and climbing the mountains makes you feel lucky. Moreover, it also give you an urge to portrait and share all those experiences in the best possible way so people can also get inspired to go outside and enjoy nature. Usually, the worst part of Mexico is what we see portrayed around the world in international film festivals. Drug cartels, poverty and violence is the story that gets told and makes good business. One of my long term goals as a filmmaker is to portray the best face of my country. I want to show that people have great stories regarding adventure and exploration of one of the most biodiverse countries in the world. With this, I want to show the side of Mexico that does not get shown.
