Synopsis: Confronted by odd directives from her late husband’s estate, Helena Grayson is inspired to reawaken a long-buried desire to write. When she’s unexpectedly drawn into an encounter with a past lover she is further challenged to explore her creative voice. Conceived under the sway of both love and art ‘Into Invisible Light’ is a story of forgiveness, second chances and the revitalizing power of art.

Director's Statement

“What kind of courage does this process of actualization and artistic expression involve?” And further, in response, “When does that courage, appealing as it may appear, camouflage deeper and darker secrets even the best-intentioned fail to reckon?” Character driven, a strong premise, it resonates deeply for me and I feel universally for an audience, because what mature person has not been confronted by a difficult choice and lacked the courage to address it?
I also believe in the sense of reckoning that is integral to the creative act—the impulse to make sense of one’s life through the making of art—is foundational in this film. The accompanying movement “into invisible light” underlying that reckoning embodies the paradoxical and enigmatic nature of the metamorphosis art attempts—its desire to transform and inform from lived experience; to create intervals whose duration outwits those moments of enlightenment that satisfy even as they cannot be held.
