Ace of Cups
Synopsis: Josie, an unhappily married psychic, sees her husband in Sarah’s tarot card reading, living a blissful romantic life she hasn’t experienced with him in many years. Director's Statement
I think it’s really interesting how two women can be married to the same person (at different times) and have a completely different experience, since life is theoretically all about learning from our mistakes and growing from them. With “Ace of Cups,” it was interesting exploring Jackson through the eyes of his current/ex-wife and his girlfriend/future wife, while honoring the truth of both of their experiences.
Director's Bio
Jackie has spent more than 30 years working in the marketing/communications industry, but she’s new to the world of filmmaking. Since she learns best by spending time with people who are smarter than she is, Jackie joined the board of directors for the Cordillera International Film Festival, which has a mission to bring emerging, established and future filmmakers together with diverse audiences.
In the three years since she started hanging out with filmmakers, she has written three feature scripts and a handful of shorts. Working with many Cordillera board members (producer, actor, DP, costumes), she recently completed the production of her first short film, “Lost in Memories.”
For her day job, she owns a marketing firm — Jax Marketing & Communications — helping companies and non-profits thrive through the power of creativity and strategic communications.
