Synopsis: 20 years into the future, fresh air, and clean water are not abundant anymore. While people still hardly talk about the reasons for this situation, four adults confess their individual day-to-day climate sins. Yet they also find reasons for doing what they did.

Director's Statement
With “Because I could”, I wanted to point out two things when it comes to our ecological footprint. First, that some of our habits have reached exuberant heights, that are socially acknowledged, but not necessarily beneficial. And second, that it’s everybody’s responsibility to change that.

Niki J. Borger is a German actress, dancer, and screenwriter. “Because I could” marks her debut as a director. Her work is characterized by social relevance, integrity and authenticity.
