Synopsis: “Buy a horse, they said. It will be fun, they said.”
Casey Halbach’s life was perfectly on track. She had it all: good friends, loving boyfriend, decent job with her very own cubicle.
Then, she met Sky. Riding instructor, barn manager, and whirlwind of energy, Sky effortlessly launches Casey back into the saddle. After fifteen years behind a desk, Casey was a little rusty… but the more time she spends at the stable, the more she never wants to leave.
Friends are confused, the boyfriend is concerned, and Casey is conflicted — but when she decides to take the plunge and buy a horse of her own, she realizes that she was just dabbling in the shallow end before. Now, Casey’s pretty sure she’s in over her head, but the crazy thing is:
She thinks she likes it this way.
Can anyone balance life, work, and horses? Casey’s going to give it a try. Indeed, she’s pretty sure she doesn’t have a choice.

Director's Bio
Growing up between Maryland and Florida, Natalie Keller Reinert has spent much of her life in the saddle. From galloping racehorses at Aqueduct, to grooming for international-level Event riders in Ocala, to riding on mounted patrol in New York City, if it involves horses, Reinert’s probably given it a try.
In 2011 she released her first novella, THE HEAD AND NOT THE HEART, which became the first of four books in the best-selling Alex and Alexander Series. The second novel in this series, OTHER PEOPLE’S HORSES, went on to become a semi-finalist for the Dr. Tony Ryan Book Award, a prize for literature about the horse racing industry. The fourth novel, TURNING FOR HOME, was a top three finalist.
Reinert’s runaway bestseller AMBITION leads the highly successful Eventing Series, which has five books to date (and more on the way, thanks to constant requests from readers). The novel SHOW BARN BLUES was written as a standalone piece but after many requests, a follow-up, HORSES IN WONDERLAND, continues the Show Barn Blues Series.
In 2019, Reinert released THE HIDDEN HORSES OF NEW YORK, with entirely new characters and settings, to outstanding reviews.
Reinert lives outside of Orlando, Florida where, in addition to writing novels, she is a freelance copywriter and social media manager. She loves spending time at the area theme parks, getting on an airplane to someplace new whenever possible, and riding an opinionated chestnut pony named Ben.
