Director's Statement
Healthy Mind is a modern narrative film about becoming sexually active in this generation. I want to critique the social pressures and norms on how young adults become sexually active. No, I will not strive for a PSA announcement style film, because this is the reality of sex today. There are no films out today that assess this current social phenomenon with young adults. There are temptations, pressures from peers and society, and threats that many young adults face when coming of age that isn’t taught to us. Within this film, I will be exploring this topic between these three college freshmen, best friends. Each student will undergo the positive and negative of new sexual encounters with very different views on sex afterwards. I wish to share an untold, reliable modern story that addresses the importance of safe-sex and sexual freedom.
