Synopsis: “Chepito, alias Jo Chevalier, a retired French farmer, has joined a small NGO of his Loire Atlantique district”Exchange and Solidarity 44” that brings help to farmers in Nicaragua.
Since 1986, at the heart of the Nicaraguan revolution, the volunteers ship out every year a container full of old farming tools, which theyve restored. Chepito has volunteered to be at the receiving end in Nicaragua, to distribute the equipment, and has become a revolutionary pacifist. He has made eleven trips to Central America, overseeing the tool distribution and writing his memoirs along the way.
For the good cause, I offered for the association a hand-drawn sower, leg of one of my uncles. Years later, I have decided to follow Chepito to Nicaragua, to discover where my tool landed, a search that will allow me to meet his many friends along the way. Their testimony will bring into focus the Revolution and contra-Revolution that rocked the country from 1970 to 1989 and affected them directly.”
