This film is a follow-up to an earlier short film called The Mapmaker. In both cases, I’m more interested in the climber than the climbs. Climbers of that era and from the more isolated scenes like Boone, North Carolina tend to live on the fringe, physically and metaphorically, and that is attractive to me. I feel like we have a lot to learn from them, beyond just their athletic accomplishments.
