Synopsis: A little girl, who is on the verge of puberty, goes with her father to catch oak butterfly (Kallima). Her father is killed there by accident. Now she is experiencing her adolescence with new problems.

About my film “Kallima”, I can say that this is my most personal film. That means that no matter what success the film can make, I can say that I love it more than all the other films I’ve made. Explaining further that losing a father is something I experienced as a child and the main theme of the film is about it. Especially because of the censorship that exists in Iranian society and as a Kurd, no one can speak easily about these issues. That’s why I’m glad I was able to make my film with all these conditions and get out of the censorship. I would be happy if this theme was seen in the film and the festival selection committee deduced it from the story lines.

I was born in Baneh-Kurdistan of Iran in 1974. I have a B.A. in Mechanical engineering. I started my carrier as a play actor/director when I was a university student in 1992.Then I moved into filmmaking in Iranian Youth Cinema Association in 1999. I did a course of film directing at Lodz film school in Poland in 2007. I have made 10 films so far and have participated in national and International film festivals. I also served as cinematographer, production manager and editor in several short and documentary films
