Synopsis: Karl has let himself go. Stuck in a dead-end job, with no friends, he struggles just to make ends meet while reading self-help books and playing the lottery.
One night, after a particularly difficult day, he finally catches a break. Scratching away as he drives home from work, Karl gets a winner: a scratch-and-win ticket worth $50,000. Momentarily distracted, he takes his eyes off the road and hits a pedestrian. Panicked, Karl has to make a decision, hide the body and take the money? Or do the right thing and risk sinking deeper into a destitute life. This is his chance, and he’ll be damned if he’ll let anyone stand in his way now. Least of all the dead body in the middle of the road. So back home and into the fridge the body goes. But nosy neighbors, pushy landlords, and a pair of cops steadily breathe down his neck as Karl morphs from push-over to cold hearted killer.
Ripple is a new take on the classic “coming-of-age” story. A man finds purpose in his life and finally starts down a new path, albeit one with the darkest of foundations; proving that one bad decision can ripple through the lives of many people, and create waves that are beyond anyone’s control.
