Roaming Wild
Synopsis: An activist, a cowboy, and a mountain man search for solutions to protect life and land in this modern-day Western about America’s wild horses. Wild horses capture people’s imaginations, and across the country, from urban centers to rural communities, they resonate with our sense of American identity. They represent the independence, strength, and grace upon which this country is built. No other issue in America- aside from the Vietnam War- has ever generated such an outpouring of public letters. Today, these horses find themselves at the intersection where modern development collides with the needs of the wild. Roaming Wild, a documentary directed by Sylvia Johnson illustrates the controversy over wild horses in the West through intimate portraits of a wild herd and three characters with diverging opinions, each working on solutions. Ultimately, this film is meant to encourage dialogue by presenting real solutions to the question of wild horse management.
