Director's Bio
An Enrolled Member of the Cherokee Nation, Direct Descendent of the ‘Trail Of Tears’, Neta is an award winning film maker/producer/director and writer. Through her Cherokee heritage Neta has a deep rooted connection to the Spirit of the Horse and the Land. Netas’ story “Shattering Sacred Ground’ is focused on her efforts to protect her land and the San Solomon Springs, an 11,000 year old springs now under threat by the oil and gas industry that has invaded the beautiful Desert Oasis Neta calls home. In 2011 Neta founded Thundering Hooves 501(c)3 non-profit organization to bring awareness to the many hardships horses face today. Through film, art projects and special events, Neta is able to further awareness to the plight of Horses. Netas’ Award Winning Documentary Film ‘Their Last Ride’ garnered the attention of International audiences bringing awareness to the issue of Horse Slaughter. The Official Trailer to her most recent Documentary Short Film, ‘A Horses’ Prayer’, is currently airing across the country as a Public Service Announcement for the SAFE Act 961/S2006. A Bill in Congress that would protect the Global Food Supply and close our borders to Horse Slaughter.
Today Neta stands strong in her fight to protect San Solomon Springs and she continues to be a tireless advocate for Horses both Wild and Domestic.
