Synopsis: Riding High is a documentary on the history of three-day Eventing in Australia. Featuring interviews with Australia’s leading Olympic equestrians.
Riding High, was commissioned by the organizing committee of the Sydney International Horse Trials to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the sport of eventing in Australia.
The first three-day event was held in Sydney in 1957 and just three years later the Australian team secured gold at the Rome Olympics. Australia has fielded an eventing team in every Olympics since 1960 (except for boycotting Moscow), and eventing has become Australia’s most successful Olympic equestrian discipline.
Directed by Derek Pascoe, the documentary chronicles the struggles of Australia’s early eventers and includes interviews with Olympic equestrians, Bunty Thompson, Neale Lavis, and Wayne Roycroft.
We hope audiences worldwide are inspired by the stories of these pioneering equestrians.
