Synopsis: Since his Mum died, 12 year old Billy is convinced he can fly. A pastime that can be very dangerous when it involves open windows and high trees. His foster parents, Marcus and Laura, are trying to help him come to terms with his loss but Marcus soon realises that to really help Billy, he must first face the grief he buried many years ago when his own Mother died. As Marcus and Billy tentatively find a way forward, hope and friendship eventually start to grow.

Director's Statement
I wrote ‘The Boy Who Thought He Could Fly’ because I wanted to tell a story about how important it is to talk, and to listen. I’m so pleased with how the cast interpreted the script, I think their performances are very honest and truthful. It’s a very personal film to me, and I’m very proud of it. I hope it goes some way to help start conversations around grief, mental health and recovery.
