After losing 20 loved ones to COVID in 2020, I didn’t know how I would wake up and face each day. The most heartbreaking losses were my uncle and my grandfather. My uncle and I shared a birthday. We had a longstanding tradition each year of trying to be the first one to wish the other a happy birthday. He passed away from COVID complications one week before Thanksgiving. Nearly one month later, my grandfather, a Veteran, passed away on Christmas Day. This film was lovingly produced in their memory and to honor all lives impacted by the year that was 2020…
Director's Bio
From the Syrian border as a missionary, to being commended by President Obama for assisting abused women, v.c. rhone’s life experiences breathe life into her creative process. She completed her undergraduate studies in Film and Television Production at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and was trained by Academy Award Winner, Carol Dysinger (Learning to Skateboard in a Warzone If You’re a Girl).
She was recently a finalist in The Quarantine Monologues produced by Leah Daniels Butler (Coming 2 America, Precious, Empire, Lee Daniels’ The Butler, Being Mary Jane). Her comedic script, “Pastor Chris,” was a finalist for the CEG Half-Hour Television Comedy Screenwriting Workshop. This granted her an opportunity to train with Primetime Emmy Nominee and famed Showrunner, Jim O’Doherty (3rd Rock from the Sun, Kickin’ It, and The Tracy Morgan Show).
