Meet the Speakers!
Jaydi Samuels Kuba – is a writer-producer (most recently on Netflix’s Good Times) who started her career under Seth MacFarlane, writing the 250th episode of Family Guy. She’s written for multiple rappers and athletes, from Tyler the Creator to Steph Curry, and is particularly drawn to projects dealing with characters who remain optimistic in the bleakest of conditions — a theme that resonated for Colin Kaepernick, an EP on a recent anime she sold. On the live action side, she’s written on Brannon Braga’s Salem, and developed both a drama and a comedy with WBTV. Outside writing, she’s a proud wife and mom (to a ten month old), a fundraising fiend for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and the owner of a prominent LA-based matchmaking company.
Katie J Stone – is a TV writer and actor best known for her work on SHOOTER (USA). She’s currently writing for the second season of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell (Netflix) and can be seen as LTJG Penny Strib in the upcoming season of JACK RYAN (Amazon). On the interactive side, she has written for UbiSoft and Activison. On the development side, she and her writing partner, David Daitch, have sold pilots: ADVERSARIES “Female Topgun” for ABC via SONY, INCEPTOR “SWAT meets Grey’s in the Coast Guard” originally with FOX then redeveloped for a streamer, and CANDYGRAM “A Vegas Dancer joins the CIA” for ABC via 20th. Earlier this month, Katie and her writing partner sold a new, yet to be announced, pilot, and she’s looking forward to being able to share the details soon
